Free Carer Training in Suffolk and Norfolk

Are you interested in free Carer training in Norfolk and Suffolk.

Suffolk Independent Living and Equal Lives are working with Skills for Care and Surrey Independent Living Centre to provide free training on:

  • Emergency First Aid at Work

  • Adult and Child Safeguarding

  • Managing behaviour and Autism Awareness

  • Manual Handling

Conference Event
Disability Liaison Group

November 2018

Are you a disabled person?  Do you have a disabled child? Do you care for a disabled person?

​

Suffolk Coalition of Disabled People (SCODP) are putting together a Disability Liaison Group to allow disabled people a chance to come together and discuss issues of importance.  The first session will discuss Hate Crime.

​

Testing Taxi Services in West Suffolk

October 2018

​

SCODP are working with Forest Heath District Council and St Edmundsbury Borough Council to look at the provision of taxi services for disabled people. 

 

They are looking for disabled and non-disabled people across West Suffolk to either book a taxi from home or to use a taxi from one of the taxi ranks.  Volunteers can use the taxi at a time to suit them as long as they complete the project before the beginning of December 2018.

​

SCODP will pay each volunteer a flat fee of £20.00 per person when SCODP have received their form.

​

Free Carer training in Ipswich

August 2018

Equal Lives and Surrey Independent Living Centre are working with Skills for Care to offer training in the following fields in Ipswich:

- Emergency First Aid at Work on 25th September 2018 at The Coop Education Centre

- Good Boss Training on 27th September 2018 at The Coop Education Centre

- Person Centred Support.on 26th September 2018 at IP City Centre

Free Carer Training in Norwich

These sessions will be run in Norwich, but there will be some Ipswich training running at the same time.

Free Bespoke Moving and Handling Training

July 2018

 

Employers must reduce the rick of injury to their staff by:

- Avoiding those manual handling tasks that could result in injury, where reasonably practicable.

- Assessing the risks from moving and handling that cannot be avoided.

- Putting measures in place to reduce the risk, where reasonably practicable.

​

Equal Lives and Surrey Independent Living Centre are working with Skills for Care to offer two individual employers with the chance to have free training in their own home with their own equipment.

​

Training is on a first come, first served basis.

​

FREE Care Certificate Training for Personal Assistants and Employers

August 2015

 

Skills for Care are funding some new training that provides a nationally accredited Care Certificate.  It is brought to you by Equal Lives, Suffolk Independent Living and Suffolk Coalition of Disabled People.  The training will be delivered by MRF Training and Consultancy.

 

It will cover lots of areas to do with being both an employer and an employee and you are invited to attend.

January 2015

 

We are a 3rd Party Reporting Centre for Suffolk Hate Crime.

 

You can report here any incident that you believe was motivated by race, religion/faith, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or gender.
