Suffolk Independent Living is a service offered by Equal Lives, a Disability Rights Organisation working across Norfolk and Suffolk.
Our Ipswich-based service is looking for a new Advisor to join our friendly team.
If you’re passionate about empowering disabled people to live independent lives, you could be a great fit!
As an Independent Living Advisor, you’ll be responsible for supporting disabled people who employ their own PA/support workers to make meaningful decisions on how they exercise their rights as employers.
You will be:
Providing day-to-day advice on employment law/HR matters
Supporting the recruitment process from start to finish
Assisting clients in navigating the complexities of employment-related challenges
Managing a caseload of clients, with support from our small but supportive team

My name is Rory, I am 28 years old. I am nonverbal and require patience and support to communicate my feelings and needs. I am a very active individual and enjoy walking long distances, going to the gym and being active in nature. The support you will provide me will help enable me to live a more fulfilling and fun-filled life.
The position will take place both in my home and outside in supporting activities and the successful candidate will be employed directly by my mother.
I need someone who is open to adapting any previous knowledge and experience to suit how I need to be supported. This will be done by shadowing other team members and completing further training courses, so you can learn about me and my needs.
£12.50 per hour day (7 am to 10 pm)
£15.00 per hour waking night (10 pm to 7 am)
